The Carroll/Ackles Genealogy

A number of years ago when talking with my parents it became apparent that very little information was available on my 1st, 2nd and 3rd grandparents.  My parents remembered some, but very little of this family history and unfortunately most of my 1st and all of my 2nd and 3rd generations were deceased.  Who were these ancestors and what life experiences finally culminated in our family?  Many bits and pieces of family history opened the door into the past just enough to see a family history with its share of  problems, pioneering adventure and hardships along with both the good and bad encountered in many family histories.  Over a period of time a considerable amount of  research has been completed, sourced and documented.  In retrospect what I considered would be most likely dispiriting, tedious and godforsaken family research turned out to be enjoyable both on family identity and historical levels.

This web site is not meant to be a detailed family genealogy on the ancestors of the Carroll family but rather to capture and share sourced biographies of four generations (work still in progress) based on family history and research.  Also research has established all descendants of this family can be linked back to arrival on the Mayflower (proof underway) and can be considered as sons/daughters of the American Revolution by my accepted proof as being an SAR member.  Additionally historical family photos of this family are difficult to find and are treasures to be preserved and are made available.  I welcome and would appreciate any that you have and are willing to share.  Finally, as the power of DNA has shown its promise in identifying possible ancestors, my genetic information is available for matches on both Ancestry.com and FamilyTreeDNA.com.  Although I have posted family history on WikiTree, FamilySearch.org and Ancestry.com for many family branches none are as sourced and complete as what I have on my Family Data Base Program.  If you have any questions on any of my family ancestors please contact me.
